Oh, remember those nine words of Spirit by T. Lee Thompson

This Poem is a reflection of the fruits of the Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23, written and authored by T. Lee Thompson (see bio below)

1-LoveOf course, the first is Love, and Love is also last and unconditional, too. But how do we know love until it breaks your heart in two and then fills your cup until it overflows? Love is life and life is love. Only two things matter most with love. To love ‘your’ God with all your heart, mind, and soul and to love your neighbour as you love yourself. Deceivingly simple, yet some find it hard to do. ~

2-JoySome might wonder why is joy second when you receive joy every time you fall in love? But joy can be found in so many simple things.  Joy is what makes you laugh until you cry. Joy is watching your dog catch a frisbee in midair and happily retrieve it so that you can throw it again and again. Joy is watching your newborn smile for the first time. Joy is that silly little squirrel running on your fence with quirky little movements. Joy is dancing the night away until you can barely stand, and you drink all your beer in one big gulp. Joy is ice cream, on a hot summer day. Joy is making love in the moonlight watching the stars between quiet pauses of exhaustion. Joy is absolutely free; it costs nothing to bring joy into your life. Why is joy so fleeting I wonder?~

3-PeaceThe quietness of peace is often overlooked until the loudness of war, arguments, chaos, and strife abounds. So, remember peace every day, cherish its quiet stillness, the calm cool balm of peace that brings security, safety, and solace. Go in peace to that place in your mind where everything is still and chill. Peace man…groovy, I’m chillin.~

4-LongsufferingA perfect way to describe the word patience because it seems to be long, and you often feel like you are suffering as time goes by. But patience is needed in many things we want to rush through in life. Ironically, when we lose our patience, we experience much suffering because we push aggressively through. Through patience, we learn to alchemize and transform our aggression into detachment. You realize that being first in line at the expense of others is unimportant. You’d rather be patient, as all good things DO come to those who wait. ~

5-KindnessBeing genuinely caring, helpful, and generous to those who need help at the right time, with no expectations of praise; you just give freely. To see someone just needs a hug and you give that hug freely; to give someone what they need when they need it- maybe it’s just a sandwich, hamburger, cup of coffee, the right change at the cash register. Seeing a stranger fall and helping them get back on their feet. Be kind and never mind who sees you doing it. Kindness is always recorded in the record of your soul and remembered for millennia of lifetimes to come. It may seem like a small act but it’s quite huge. ~

6-Goodness To practice goodness is to be someone who would rather live their life honestly and with integrity. Do what is good and righteous wherever possible, without judging others; hold yourself accountable and never judge another. You always ask Spirit for what is good for all and not just yourself. And it is a life of principle that you seek even if it seems to be uncomfortable at the time because you know that in the end it will turn out to be what is best for everyone.~

7-FaithYou can be eternally loyal and committed to someone’s promises as an act of good faith. It is said that faith can move mountains. Collectively, our consciousness can create a vibratory faith to believe that good will ultimately conquer the fears in the world. Have faith that the world will succeed and have faith that humans deserve to live in paradise once again. ~

8-MildnessTo love another living being in a tender, soft, warm, and sensitive way…such an act brings quiet and calm even to the mighty beast. Pulling out the arrow from the paw of another, metaphorically speaking, very gently, quietly soothing them. Acts of warm gentleness without words can show intuitive sensitivity; that is mildness.~

9-Self-controlTo be a master of one’s desires, emotions, and control over expressions of anger and aggression, especially in difficult situations, is the ability to find detachment, restraint, and control. The practice of self-discipline in changing one’s habits to create a better person- a person you can be proud of- what a good feeling that is.

AGAINST SUCH THINGS…THERE IS NO LAW!
