The Goddess by T. Lee Thompson
authored and written by T. Lee Thompson circa April 18, 2018, see Bio below
Listen, can you hear her?
A consciousness shift on earth ever so slight
As light as angel wings first taking flight
And up until now it has continued to stem
The feeling ever growing and evolving to them
Indeed the world is in dire need to atone
For centuries belief in the Goddess is near gone
Eternal life and rebirth, where this belief has lost conviction
Can you see her?
Her gentle droplets sprinkle upon the earth
As she empties her chalice upon the world
The Goddess approaches
Yes the Goddess has come to take back earth once again
Can you feel her?
Her liquid pours forth to rust the sword of man
No longer shall she be trampled on
No longer shall she be weak and preyed upon
No longer must she be raped, murdered and enslaved
No longer must she watch as her babes are starved, diseased and caged
No longer must she be burned for nothing more than just being who she is, a WOMAN
No longer is she considered weak but she is evolving to be stronger than man
No longer will she be called a witch just because she can heal and then be burnt alive and falsely accused because she wouldn’t kneel
No longer will she be treated as chattel or cattle or slaves
No longer will she be stoned to death or burnt alive because she is has outlived her usefulness
No longer will she be used for sex and then given the gift of AIDS
No longer must she tolerate the beating the abuse
of her children that carries through the ages
Bring back the images of life-giving, life sustaining,
life re-generating powers of the Goddess.
Bring back the celebration of all that is life
The flowers and birds, the animals and trees
The Madonna and child
Replace the negative images of Christ dying
on a Cross as the central image of art
An example of exaltation of pain, suffering and death
the lethal power of the blade.
Celebrate the life-giving and nurturing chalice
a supreme power in the universe.
A partnership rather than a dominant society we need
and the Goddess as the mother and giver of ALL
who once was everywhere seen as the source of all nature and life.
And soon to be that exalted life source once again!
This Poem I wrote after reading the book, ‘The Chalice and the Blade’, by Riane Eisler, an incredible book that every man and woman should read and ponder as to why we are still living in a dominator society and not a society of partnership, freedom and equality. Tracy Lee Thompson
