Getting REAL in an Artificial World by T. Lee Thompson

I just realized that anyone born after 2000 probably doesn’t understand my title or why I seem to be making some point here. As in, what’s your problem? This is how things are, so get over it because all they’ve ever known is artificial.  It’s the food that you eat, the games you play, the places you choose to assemble, the music you listen to, and the way you decide to communicate…. artificial, fake, phony, plastic, copied, duplicated, re-mastered, reassembled, re-run.

When you think about it, we are in a ‘Barbie World’—some might even say we are in a ‘Matrix world.’ And if you are a person ‘Like Me’ and are authentically and honestly ‘human’, they say how dare you!  And then there’s all this kerfuffle and competition like she’s being honest and authentic…there must be something wrong with that! What’s her angle? What is she trying to do by being honest? What market does she want to reach? We must compete with that; we can’t let her do that; people might like what she says. They get nervous, anxious, worried, and perplexed that she might change things for everyone, and they want to be there first.  The fear of missing out on an opportunity for presumed success is there.

So, they pick her apart because we can’t just say and do what is different, creative, and original, can we? It must be according to some set format, something to be copied, something written somewhere for reference, a teaching done before, a belief practiced before, a philosophy taught before. How dare she be authentic, creative, AND Original! That’s just not done…we aren’t supposed to be authentically original…we are supposed to be like everybody else. Stick to the program, and don’t make waves. And for heaven’s sake, ‘don’t be original.’ I feel this all around me these days. I sometimes wonder why I started my writing and my YouTube channel at this point in my life, but I know it’s something I felt compelled to do as if it was my mission in life.

It’s funny, though, how there’s a bit of a crack happening within this Matrix or Barbie world we live in. Do you feel it? That feeling inside when you lay in bed at night with the distinct realization that all your life, you have followed the rules, worked hard, sacrificed yourself to others, and lived life to the best of your ability, but something inside of you seems to be missing.

Is it because everything becomes like a repeat performance, and anything done in repetition loses its excitement, surprise, or build-up of anticipation for something fun, joyful, and illuminating? It becomes easily forgettable, something you do automatically without thought or emotion. We become robotic in our motions, walking stiff-like in lineups waiting to get the latest, greatest…whatever they are selling us. All that’s hoped is that this might just provide that minute piece of excitement, anticipation, or pleasant surprises we miss out on in life. In this grey, bleak-colored world we have created for ourselves.

GO AHEAD, Wear the PINK DRESS! Or Shirt, Hat, Scarf, Tie, Whatever~

Do you wake up sometimes in the morning feeling like you are living in neuro interactive simulation…That’s a direct quote from Morpheus talking to Neo from the movie The Matrix. What can I say? I’m a Matrix nerd, but what if some part of this concept is true?

What if every day in this world we have created in this twenty-first century is a prelude to becoming completely artificially simulated to look and feel like it’s perfect? But what if it’s too perfect? And what if you don’t like that perfection? Because it’s all the same, there’s no surprise, anticipation, excitement, or joy. No striving to be better to improve oneself, to learn to love one another as well as you love yourself. Everyone would be the same, walk the same way, and talk the same way; everyone would be like robots in line. Don’t step out of the box, don’t think outside of the box, and don’t have creative thinking at all. Just submit and walk the treadmill of life.  I don’t know about you, but this isn’t a world I would like to live in at all. But it’s beginning to resemble a Matrix or a Copy of a presumed artificially programmed original.

Perhaps we can take on the ability to transform ourselves into authentic beings of light and love and always create a distraction within our very own 21st-century matrix that is forming as we speak.

For those of you who are awake, enlightened, and aware, I’m asking you to deliberately and purposely be very authentic in everything you create, speak, and do on the internet. Whenever we collectively do this, it gets harder and harder for artificial intelligence to copy us, therefore ensuring our continued existence and relevance for many years to come.

And for everyone worried about little old me stepping on toes, worried that I’m taking someone’s business opportunity away from them, that I’m doing it ‘wrong’ somehow, all I have to say is, I SURRENDER! There’s no competition, folks…I’m just doing my part in my mission to wake people up.

And whenever and wherever you can be wearing that pink shirt or whatever color it might be that is different, authentic, out of place somehow…do it! Be out there, be authentic…keep it changing…make it challenging to reproduce…be creative, BE AUTHENTICALLY HUMAN!

I’m a ‘Firefly Spirit’; I’m shining a little light here and there, a little bit of truth here and there—a little bit of inspirational light to shine for everyone. I’m shining a little light, folks; who wants to join me? Are you a firefly spirit, too? Collectively, we can shine a brighter light toward a brighter future by breaking apart this artificial matrix and exposing the beautiful natural world underneath.
